Rosalind Neisinger - Artistic Director
Rosalind Neisinger serves as Artistic Director of the Danville Girls' Chorus, bringing a distinguished record of choral leadership and a deep personal connection to the organization as a four-year DGC alumna. She sang in the Intermediate, Apprentice, Concert, and Honor Choirs before going on to build an accomplished career in music education. For the past eight years, she has served as choral director at Monte Vista High School, where her ensembles have performed in renowned venues in Italy, London, and Paris. Rosalind earned degrees in Music Education and English from UCLA, graduating summa cum laude, and later received her Master's in Education from San Jose State University. She is honored to return to DGC and lead the next generation of singers.
Jennifer Brown - Associate Director
Jennifer Brown has been the director of the DGC Apprentice Choir since 2002. Jennifer earned her degree in Elementary and Music Education from Brigham Young University. She taught for 6 years in Utah where she directed an elementary school choir. In 1991, Jennifer returned to her native California and began teaching at Charlotte Wood Middle School. She has served as choral director at Charlotte Wood since 2000 and the musical theatre director since 1996. In addition, Jennifer also co-conducts Temple Hill Choir (an adult multi-faith community choir) in Oakland and also co-directs their annual production of the Broadway production of Scrooge. She adores musical theater and has been singing and performing since age 4. Her greatest desire is to make sure every girl has a song in her heart to get through the ups and downs life brings.
Avery Chapman - Associate Director
Avery Chapman is thrilled to be joining the Danville Girls Chorus as the Intermediate director. A proud DGC alumna, Ms. Chapman sang with DGC from 3rd to 8th grade and has been a member of the DGC staff since 2017. She is especially excited to return home to the Bay Area after spending the past seven years in Miami, Florida, where she taught K–8 general music and choir while earning her Bachelor's degree in Music Education with a minor in Songwriting from the University of Miami.
In addition to directing with the Danville Girls Chorus, Ms. Chapman owns a private music studio where she specializes in one-on-one instruction in voice, songwriting, piano, guitar, and other contemporary band instruments. She is passionate about helping students discover their unique musical voices while building confidence, celebrating their sense of self, and creating a lifelong love of music. Outside of teaching, Ms. Chapman is a dedicated singer-songwriter and performer with four independently released albums. She regularly performs live and continues to write and record original music alongside her work as an educator. When she's not making music, you can usually find Ms. Chapman on a SoulCycle bike or baking cookies!
Ms. Chapman believes music is a place where every person can find belonging, community, and the freedom to be exactly who they are. She is honored to continue the tradition that shaped her own musical journey and looks forward to collaborating with the next generation of DGC singers.
Angela Borba - Associate Director
Angela Borba has been directing the Preparatory choir since 2004. Ms. Borba holds a Bachelors of Music in Music Education with a Choral concentration from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. In 2008, she earned her Master’s in Education with a Kodaly emphasis from Holy Names University. Along with her Kodaly training, she completed her Orff Level I Certification at Belmont University in Nashville. Ms. Borba’s musical experience is varied and widespread. She currently teaches general music and chorus at Happy Valley and Burton Valley Elementary Schools. In addition to teaching in the Lafayette School District, Ms. Borba is the director of the Adult Choir at Christ the King Church in Pleasant Hill.
Eunhye Grace Hwang - Concert and Honor Choirs
Eunhye Grace Hwang is a pianist, chamber musician, and music educator based in the
San Francisco Bay Area. She is the Co-founder and Executive Director of Melodique
Ensemble, a nonprofit ensemble of professional performers and composers, and works
as a conductor and collaborative pianist with various community and church choirs
throughout the Bay Area. She also serves as an adjudicator for the US Open Music
Competition (USOMC).
Hwang has performed at Carnegie Hall, Greenfield Hall, and Solomon Mikovsky Recital
Hall in New York, as well as Taube Atrium Theater in San Francisco, Santa Clara
University’s Music Recital Hall, and Tateuchi Hall in Mountain View. She has also been
invited to perform in concert series presented by the Interfaith Center at the Presidio
and Grace Presbyterian Church. Earlier in her career, she served as a collaborative
pianist at the Manhattan School of Music and its Pre-College Division, working with
faculty and musicians affiliated with The Juilliard School, Manhattan School of Music,
Mannes School of Music, and Indiana University.
Hwang earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from Ewha
Womans University, one of Korea’s leading universities, and later continued her studies
at the Manhattan School of Music on scholarship, where she earned her Master of
Music degree and Professional Studies Certificate in Piano. She currently maintains a
private teaching studio in Northern California, and her students have gone on to study at
institutions including Boston University, Berklee College of Music, Mannes School of
Music, and The University of Texas at Austin, while also receiving awards in regional
music competitions.
Laurie Hugill - Apprentice Choir
Laurie Hugill is a native of Burbank, California and has been an accompanist for Danville Girls Chorus since 2001. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from the University of Southern California. During her long musical career in the Danville area, Ms. Hugill has been not only the accompanist for DGC Apprentice Choir, but also for the choirs at San Ramon Valley High School and many local private instrumental and vocal studios. She is loved by all who have the good fortune of getting to work with her. The choir program at DGC would not be the same without her kind and patient approach to working with the performers, director, parent volunteers and administration.
Chelsea Kim – Intermediate Choir
A native of Pleasanton, Ms. Chelsea is an alumna of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Recognized early by teachers trained at the Moscow Conservatory, she studied extensively under virtuoso Eugene Masluk, whose students include international competition winner Mark Anderson. By middle school, she had completed MTAC Certificate of Merit Level 10 with honors and advanced to the elite Panel Level as a NorCal Division Top Tier Nominee. She attended San Francisco Conservatory of Music’s Preparatory Division, following a successful audition with Head Piano Chair Dr. John McCarthy. Ms. Chelsea was the youngest accompanist invited by Professor Linduska to accompany her Stanford University graduate students. She also served as 1st Chair Flute and Section Leader in Chamber Choir, receiving the National School Choral Award®—the highest honor for graduating choral students. Ms. Chelsea is an active composer of solo piano works and chamber music. In August 2024, she was selected to attend an intensive program in Milan, Italy, with Hollywood’s top composers – including Sonya Belousova & Giona Ostinelli (Billboard No.1), Carlos Rafael Rivera (Grammy & 3x Emmy winner), David Buckley (The Sandman), and Ryan Shore (Star Wars, Scooby-Doo!). Ms. Chelsea was honored as Steinway & Sons’ Top Piano Teacher for both 2021 and 2022.
Keith Cosbey - Preparatory Choir
A native of Buffalo, NY and father of a current DGC member, Keith began playing piano at ten and accompanying choirs at fourteen. A graduate of the University of Notre Dame with degrees in Piano Performance and Computer Application Programming, Keith has performed and collaborated extensively as both an accompanist and choral member. At Notre Dame, he served as President of the Glee Club, performing internationally and accompanying major works including Stravinsky’s Oedipus Rex. He also founded and managed The Undertones, the university’s oldest student-led a cappella group, producing three albums and leading national tours. In the Bay Area, Keith has directed numerous musical theater productions at St. Joan of Arc Parish, accompanies the St Isidore School Choir, and plays at a handful of Catholic Churches throughout the region.
